The Castle Hill Cycle Club

Fancy sitting on your arse watching the world go by?

2008 - and we're back out and looking for new members! We now meet at the Square on Saturday mornings @8.15am for a 30 mile ride, and from the turn of the clock (2nd April 2008) @6pm. We use road bikes (racers) or fast hybrids with slick tyres, not that were snobbish, just thats what we ride and over 20-30 miles they cover the ground quicker and more efficiently. However, don't be put off if you haven't got a road bike, come along and see how you enjoy it.
We usually follow one of four routes, outlined on the site, each route offering a mixture of terrain and difficulty. Each route intended to build fitness and increase overall bike skills. You can view the route details under the club rides section. Average speed around 15-18mph.
New members can sign up on Fri 7th March 2008 @8pm in the Square Bar. Insurance is available through the club membership, we are affiliated to Cycling Ulster and Cycling Ireland the UCI recognised body. Again we are simply focusing on building up core membership and setting the club on a sound footing for the future. If it's racing or TT you're after, we can't offer that this year but other clubs in the area can.
We'll be travelling to some of the larger Tours around the country, non competitive leisure events covering 60-100 miles. We're small but ambitious and are organise one of the largest events in the Irish calendar 'Lap The Lough'. So if you haven't cycled for a while, just moved to the area or fancy having crack at Lough Neagh… get in touch..
